We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Carpenter to join our construction team based out of Copiague, NY. This position plays a vital role in executing commercial renovation and tenant fit-out projects across multiple counties throughout the Hudson Valley region.

As a key field employee, responsibilities include:

Wood and metal stud framing
Drywall installation
Door and window installation
Finish carpentry
General punch-list work

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform commercial renovation carpentry, including but not limited to:
- Wood and metal stud framing
- Sheetrock/drywall hanging and finishing
- Installation of doors, frames, hardware, and windows
- Acoustical ceiling installation
- Baseboards, trim, casework, and millwork
- Punch-list and finish work
Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions to determine job specifications and layouts.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install materials using hand and power tools with precision.
Assist with demolition, site preparation, and material handling as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Maintain inventory and ensure proper care of tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Coordinate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients on-site.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of hands-on carpentry experience in commercial construction.
Must provide own set of hand tools.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to various job sites.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and construction documents.
Strong understanding of current building codes, materials, tools, and construction methods.
Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
OSHA 40 certification required. Additional certifications such as SST or Fall Protection are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and climb ladders or scaffolding for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds regularly.
Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, and dust.
Must have full range of motion and dexterity when using carpentry tools and materials.
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

Work Environment:

This is a field-based role requiring daily travel to active construction sites. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in active commercial environments such as office buildings, retail spaces, schools, and healthcare facilities. Candidates must be adaptable to changing work conditions and schedules based on project timelines.

Prevailing wage rates based on job classification and project requirements.
Supplemental benefits such as healthcare, retirement contributions, or equivalent cash payments.
Overtime compensation in accordance with New York State Labor Law and applicable wage schedules.
