When RENU and Milburn share a project, it demands the established standards they have been known for over six decades. Adherence to budgetary constraints, upholding employee professionalism, and the timely completion of tasks are overarching objectives for a successfully completed job. Among RENU’s accomplishments is the comprehensive upgrade of the Mattituck-Cutchogue Jr. Sr. High School tech lab, a project spanning May to August 2023, resulting in the transformation of approximately 7,000 square feet just in time for the start of the school year.
The initiation phase involved an exhaustive demolition, encompassing walls, ceilings, floors, storefronts, windows, lifts, bathrooms, doors/frames, spray booths, dust collection systems, lighting, exterior concrete removal, and concrete trenching. Additionally, abatement procedures addressed pipe insulation, ceiling tiles, and flooring. The subsequent construction phase featured the installation of new components such as wood doors and frames, overhead doors, aluminum window walls, aluminum storefronts, FRP doors, and aluminum frames.
The meticulous incorporation of new FRP openings and storefronts/windows required extensive patching of the aging metal panels on the building’s exterior. The closure of overhead doors through framing and metal panel applications helped to harmonize with the overall aesthetic.
Milburn Flooring contributed to the project’s success by installing epoxy, ceramic tile, and LVT tiles. The Proflake standard series macro ¼” flake in the Tidal Wave color, with a 5% Yellow infusion, was selected to complement the school’s blue and yellow color scheme, garnering acclaim from both clients and students.
